Leon Diop, Fionnuala Jay and Sean McCabe among the star speakers at a brand new curated space in Curious Minds arena.

The All Together Now music festival will be bringing something altogether different to its Curious Minds arena this year – as the Global Solidarity Hub takes up residence.

The Hub will bring together some of the leading practitioners and the greatest minds working for the advancement of global social justice in Ireland, incorporating some of the most topical issues of our time – the climate crisis, the narratives around the migration debate, and art in activism.

The Curraghmore Estate in Waterford will see a full programme of workshops, discussions, interactive exhibitions and guest artists performing throughout the weekend. The Global Solidarity Hub programme is curated by Dóchas, GOAL, Sightsavers Ireland and Trócaire.

The hub will have daily themes:

  • “Activism in Action: Art, Sport & Culture as Forces for Good” on Friday
  • “In this climate?! Climate Activists not cooling down” on Saturday
  • “Ireland’s 100,000 Welcomes – But Where Are You Really From?” on Sunday

Musicians playing throughout the weekend include Toshín and Tanzanian rap artist BenValla, with meditation sessions by Grace Mahady and a Palestine Patch making Workshop by The Useless Project.

Victoria Walshe, GOAL Global Citizenship Manager and co-creator of the Global Solidarity Hub, said:

“We are delighted to be taking part at All Together Now for the first time. The hub will be a weekend full of workshops, discussions, interactive exhibitions and guest artists that will inspire, question and challenge people’s perceptions about some of the biggest issues facing the world today.

The Global Solidarity Hub was set up by a number of humanitarian organisations to reach new audiences around some of our core messages: climate, inequality and global education. Now more than ever we need spaces to explore what solidarity looks like, so this weekend at All Together Now is a great opportunity to do that in a fun and exciting environment.”
