About the role
GOAL is now seeking a dynamic, talented, and energetic candidate to accept the role of Comms Executive to drive and deliver upon our ambitious communications objectives, strengthen GOAL’s positioning within the media, and support the overall strengthening of GOAL’s brand.
The role will sit within GOAL’s Comms Team which is part of the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Department. The new Comms Executive will work cross-organisationally with stakeholders and colleagues across GOAL HQ and across GOAL’s countries of operation.
The right candidate will have at least two years’ experience in media, communications, or a PR agency environment.
We would also like our new Comms Executive to be enthusiastic about contributing to GOAL’s vision where poverty no longer exists, where vulnerable communities are resilient, where barriers to well-being are removed and where everyone has equal rights and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Comms Function - Work closely with the Head of Comms and other members of the team to ensure the smooth operation of an agile, response and dynamic comms function.
- Content management - Work closely with team to build a solid and dynamic content infrastructure, ensuring that all imagery and video material is well captioned and dated accurately, so that it is easy for all Comms Team members and internal stakeholders to access, navigate and obtain the content they require for donor pitch presentations, design pieces, videos etc.
- External Communications - Drive S.M.A.R.T* External Comms in partnership with Head of Comms and Comms Officer to generate traditional measurable media coverage, around key programme, and fundraising campaigns (e.g. Sudan comms support campaign, GOAL Mile 2024 and Corporate Christmas campaign 2024). Work on evaluation of all coverage to consider the strength and reach of the coverage, and in line with targets in Comms 2024 Tracker.
- Design service - Work in partnership with Head of Comms and Comms Officer in assessing design requests from colleagues across the organisation, devising detailed design briefs for the in-house Graphic Designer and channelling and overseeing design requests until delivery of finished product.
- Website maintenance - Work in partnership with Digital Comms Manager, to update content on the website and design and build new pages as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in comms, marketing, journalism or design
- Two years’ experience in media, communications, or a PR agency environment.
- Ability to alter style of writing to reflect the audience demonstrating an ability to simplify and explain complex issues and procedures
- Team player with excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritise work schedules
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and respond to new opportunities
- Keen interest in development sector
*GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin**
