About the role

GOAL is seeking a Global Citizenship Public & Youth Engagement Manager. The purpose of the role is to manage the development and delivery of GOAL’s Global Citizenship public engagement strategy, including line management of Public Engagement Officer, with a focus on empowering young people and engaging the wider public (target audience) to understand and take action on global challenges related to GOAL’s work.

Main Duties

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase GOAL’s engagement with young people in Ireland around Global Citizenship in line with GOAL’s Crisis to Resilience Strategy 2022-25 under GOAL 4: People Pursue a sustainable, resilient and inclusive world.
  • Coordinate and deliver GOAL’s Global NextGen Youth Programme & Network.
  • Manage the development and delivery of Global Citizenship’s public engagement strategy and related campaigns ensuring full integration of GOAL NextGen outputs and resources within wider public engagement activities.
  • Support facilitation GOAL’s Global Citizenship Education programme, external talks and workshops fostering enhanced Global Citizenship.
  • Develop robust monitoring and evaluation tools in order to review the effectiveness of the programme at all stages of development and implementation and adjust the vision for the future of the programme accordingly.
  • Ensure at all times best practice in child protection and welfare standards are adhered to.

Qualification and Skills 

  • Passionate about young people, Global Citizenship, international development and social justice issues.
  • Degree or equivalent in community development, youth work, public affairs, international development, communications or related disciplines or evidence of comparable professional or volunteer experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in co-ordinating, developing and implementing programmes relating to youth and public engagement
  • Experience of working with young people and developing and fostering youth networks essential with proven ability to lead and inspire young people
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills and experience
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Note: As an organisation who works closely with children and youth GOAL has a comprehensive Child Protection Policy. Any offer of work is subject to standard Garda vetting.

*GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin**
