About the role

A key role within the fundraising department, the Senior Individual Giving Officer will support the development and management of the individual giving strategy for GOAL in conjunction with the Individual Giving Manager.  The IG Officer will assist and manage the implementation of a donor recruitment and retention programme which will provide the basis of the public fundraising growth over the next three years.  

Main Duties 

    • Development and execution of a new Regular Giving (RG) Proposition, and RG journey. 
    • Repeat giving (2nd and 3rd+ gifts) from new donors – especially from Emergency donor acquisition.
    • Curate new IG focused content in advance of calendarised campaign activity to tell stories to maximise unrestricted income generation...including highly visualised country and program summaries. 
  • Implement the agreed annual plans including but not limited to, direct mail / warm and cold (press inserts / door drops), direct dialogue, DRTV, tele-marketing and digital plans.
  • Monitor annual marketing budgets and maintain to ensure all expenditure remains within budget
  • Manage 3rd party contractors to ensure plans are delivered on-time and within budget
  • Liaise with Operations and Media departments to ensure optimal programme information is used
  • Liaise with fundraising team members to ensure optimal calendar of activities 

Qualifications and Skills 

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, with a strong focus on individual giving, donor acquisition, and retention, ideally within an international NGO.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement successful individual giving campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage donors.
  • Attention to detail, proof reading, and an ability to tell stories in an emotive and engaging way is essential in this role; especially when it comes to phrasing, spelling, grammar and excellence in the written word. Examples may be required as part of the recruitment process.
  • Proficient in using donor management systems and CRM software..
  • Flexible and responsive to change, with a problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to working in an international, multi-cultural environment. 

*GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin**
