Job Purpose

GOAL is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Fundraising and Philanthropy Executive, with experience working with major donors and partners, to join our dynamic team. This role reports to the Senior Fundraising Manager - Philanthropy and Partnerships in GOAL and will play a crucial role in cultivating and stewarding relationships with high-net-worth individuals and major donors to raise much needed funds and support for our humanitarian programmes.

The ideal candidate will be a confident networker with strategic mindset and have a track record of major gift fundraising success, while having a passion for humanitarian work to effectively support GOAL's mission and programs worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors while building and managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive major giving programme to include nurturing key relationships through personalised engagement, regular communication, and tailored stewardship activities.
  • Plan and execute major donor cultivation events, donor briefings, and other engagement opportunities to deepen relationships and showcase the impact of donor support.
  • Establish and lead major giving philanthropic committee or circles, with the aim of identifying, evaluating, and supporting various philanthropic fundraising and networking initiatives.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and funding requests tailored to the interests and preferences of major donors, ensuring alignment with their philanthropic goals and priorities.
  • Conduct research and analysis of the current donor database to identify major gift prospects and segment donors based on capacity, interest, giving history, and relationship with GOAL.
  • Develop comprehensive donor profiles and prospect briefs, integrating relevant information and insights to inform cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Provide exceptional stewardship to major donors, ensuring timely and personalised acknowledgment, recognition, and reporting on the impact of their contributions. Create and share persuasive communication materials that convey the impact of major gifts.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to identify new major gift prospects and optimise donor engagement strategies
  • Implement best practices in donor recognition and confidentiality.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience developing and managing relationships with donors including high value donors, and key philanthropic relationships within the charitable sector ideally.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful fundraising strategies, with a track record of securing high-value donations.
  • Proven experience and results in stewarding donors including high value donors along the donor journey and successfully facilitating the request and receipt of donations.
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, build and maintain relationships
  • Present and pitch with confidence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to articulate be persuasive both in writing and in person.
  • Strategic and target driven. Must be focused on achieving agreed objectives and income targets. Ideally with experience in successfully delivering on large capital campaigns with €1M+ targets. 
  • A skilled relationship builder who will develop GOAL’s high value major gifts donor base by building a strong network of prospective donors and influencers.

*GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin**
